History

The Institute for Policy Studies & Research (INSPIRE) was formally established during the Ninth National Congress of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) in July 2014. Although the Institute was created at that time, it remained largely inactive during its initial phase and did not develop a fully functioning institutional leadership structure.

INSPIRE began to take organisational shape following the Tenth National Congress of the Party (26–30 November 2021), when a new leadership team was formed and the Institute’s research and policy activities were substantially strengthened.
